Terms of Service
These terms apply to cortezproductions.com, its game pages (such as Space Delivery, EXP: War Trauma and The Backrooms Lost Tape) and the social publishing tool operated by Cortez Productions. By using them you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.
1. About us
Cortez Productions is an independent game development studio based in Brazil that creates horror games and digital assets. You can reach us at contact@cortez.productions.
2. Using our websites
You may browse our websites and use their forms for lawful, personal or business purposes. You agree not to:
- send spam, unsolicited advertising or automated submissions through our forms;
- try to bypass our security or bot protection, probe for vulnerabilities without permission, or disrupt the websites or the services they rely on;
- copy the websites at scale or use automated tools in a way that places an unreasonable load on them;
- impersonate Cortez Productions or present our content as your own.
If you find a security issue, please report it privately to our contact email.
3. Games, purchases and demos
Our games are sold and distributed through third-party stores such as Steam. Purchases, refunds, game licenses and online services are governed by that store's terms and by the game's end user license agreement, not by these terms.
Information about games in development, including Space Delivery, describes our current plans. Features, content, platforms, prices and release dates may change. A demo may be available for a limited time only. Signing up for a demo alert does not guarantee access to a demo.
4. Intellectual property
The websites and everything on them, including game names, logos, artwork, screenshots, trailers, music, text and code, belong to Cortez Productions or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may share links to our pages and embed our official trailers from their original platforms. Press and content creators may use materials from our press kit to cover our games. Any other use requires our written permission.
5. Messages and ideas you send us
You are responsible for what you send through our forms and must not send unlawful, offensive or confidential third-party content. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them freely without any obligation to you. We are not required to review, keep confidential, credit or pay for unsolicited ideas.
6. Social publishing tool
Cortez Productions operates a private tool at autopost.cortezproductions.com that schedules and publishes the studio's own videos to the studio's own Instagram and TikTok accounts through the platforms' official APIs. The tool is used only by our team and is not available to the public. All content it publishes is created and owned by Cortez Productions, and each post is reviewed and approved by our team before it is scheduled. Our use of these platforms follows the Meta Platform Terms, the Instagram Terms of Use, the TikTok Terms of Service and the TikTok Developer Terms. How the tool handles data is described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Third-party services and links
Our websites link to and embed services we do not control, such as Steam, YouTube, Discord, Instagram, TikTok, X and the FAB store. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them, and we are not responsible for their content or availability.
8. Disclaimers
We work to keep our websites accurate and available, but they are provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that they will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components, or that all information on them is complete and up to date.
Our games contain horror themes, violence, flashing lights and other content that some people may find disturbing. Please check each game's content descriptors before playing.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Cortez Productions is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the websites. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived under applicable law, including the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. Disputes will be handled by the competent courts in Brazil, without affecting a consumer's right to bring a claim in the courts of their place of residence.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use the websites after a change means you accept the updated terms.
